Summer and Autumn Events in Hawke's Bay
There are plenty of major events that happen across the region, so check out some of the highlights listed below that you may like to plan into your journey this summer!
Bridge Pa Wine Festival
January 22nd 2022
The Bridge Pa Wine Festival will bring together seven of Hawke’s Bay’s finest wineries for a day of great wine, food, and a range of top-quality musical entertainment; with each winery producing different offerings, to make it seven festivals in one. Abbey Estate, Alpha Domus, Ash Ridge, Oak Estate, Paritua and RedMetal Vineyards will all host individual events, music, and food and wine matches. Participating wineries will be connected by hop-on/ hop-off bus services throughout the day, allowing them to visit as many wineries as they choose. A major attraction of the event is that the participating wineries are located less than five-minute drive apart.
January 28th - February 6th 2022
Hawke’s Bay F.A.W.C! Food and Wine Classic is a glorious blend of local and visiting talent, mouth-watering produce to rival any region, enticing event themes to suit all manner of tastes, and stunning venues to showcase the lot. Hawke’s Bay’s Food and Wine Classic (F.A.W.C!) turns 10 this summer. Running from January 28 – February 6, Hawke's Bay's culinary tastemakers have delivered a dazzling line up of more than 50 events for this year's festival, including a new signature showcase luncheon that will act as a cornerstone of the Summer Series for years to come.
New Zealand Cider Festival
February 12th 2022
Back for its 6th year of celebrating New Zealand Cider, 2021 (now 12 Feb 2022) brings with it a number of exciting changes. The festival will be staged in the beautiful Hawke’s Bay region at Tomoana Showgrounds, Hastings. The NZ Cider Festival showcases the finest award-winning ciders in NZ (as well as beer, wine and great food) all in one place!
Outfield Music, Food & Arts Festival
February 12th 2022
After a sold-out festival in 2021, Outfield Music, Food & Arts Festival returns on Saturday 12th February 2022. Outfield Music Food & Arts Festival will showcase a mixture of thirty-six well known and emerging musical talents from around Aotearoa & Australia including local Hawke’s Bay favourites. Cradled by the rolling hills and meadows, on the vine laden coast of Te Awanga, where the sun meets the surf.
Napier Art Deco Festival
February 16th - 20th 2022
The Art Deco Festival Napier hosted by the Art Deco Trust is one of New Zealand’s largest and most iconic events. This unique Festival is recognised nationally and internationally as a bucket list event.
Set in an idyllic location with the stunning surrounds of the Hawke’s Bay Art Deco architecture, this sets the scene for the most magical immersive celebration of the year. The whole region steps back in time to experience what life was like between 1920 and 1940 as part of the Napier Art Deco Festival. Indulge in incredible food and wine at the many wonderful events across the festival.
